A Little Bit About Me
I have many years of experience working with people of all ages. I hold a Master of Arts degree in counseling from UNC-Charlotte. As a counselor I have worked with troubled teens and their parents in both the school and community settings. I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in the state of North Carolina. I am also a nationally certified counselor (NCC). Being a counselor makes me uniquely qualified to use the skills of empathy, caring, non-judgement, and skilled listening, which are necessary tools to bring about positive change.
I also hold a license in North Carolina as a licensed practical nurse. I have a total of 21 years as a nurse in the home health care field.
As a counselor and coach, I enjoy helping women reach their goals as they transition from one life passage to another in the facinating journey of life. I have honed the skill of observation---hearing what is not said in order to understand others. Additionally, I enjoy working to help youth experiencing behavioral issues that challenge academic and social success.
In my leisure, I enjoy long walks in nature, writing, reading, and time with my children and grandchildren.
